Fog of war

I have a doubt about the fog of war. When I play a PBEM game so the fog of war is valid for both, no one knows what the other one is doing. But when I play against the AI, what happens. The computer knows exactly what I am doing and I think that the AI would have a great advantage over me. I don“t know if this guess is true and if for this reason it would be better to play against the machine without fog of war.

Afaik matrix has never said whether the AI is affected by the fog of war setting or not. I think it is a good assumption that it is not. And yes, you make the game harder for yourself, if you switch it on for yourself. What is better then depends on whether you want a greater challenge for yourself or not.

The AI is presented with the same information as a player is. When the AI is calculating where to put troops to form a line, whether or not to attack, etc. it has the information based on the detection level which is the same as a player would get. This is shown by some bad attacks or line building by the AI at times.

The question is specifically about the fog of war setting. Does it affect the AI as it affects the player or not?

How do you know? Did you test it? Is it in the manual? Or did the devs answer it?

As far as I understand, the fow rules are only for human players.
