How to choose formation size color?

Anyone knows if/how it can be remaped how a specific unit maps in the TGA files its formation size (XXXX,XX,III key in NATO ones)
Now only SS units seems to be using the "white" formation markers, being able to mapping units over there (specially by side) would be very useful to create custom counters (i.e. to create a german kriegspiel counters withouth german colours in soviet units)
