CV fighter damage way off

Something I ran into last night...
Bomber decided to attack the Kido Butai floating off shore.
When I attacked it would display the losses on the screen.
Honestly I don't have the exact BUT from what I remember...
Attack 1
Bomber 2 losses
CV fighters 4 losses.
Attack 2
Bomber 3 losses.
CV fighters 3 losses.
That is what the "attack" showed as a screen popup.
When I click on the results to re-examine what happened...all it shows is Bomber losses.
Why do I not get to see the CV aircraft hits and in fact they are not close to what happened.
I just performed a test...
Moved Kido Butai next to the American coast...4 attacks with US bombers...
Each attack yielded, 4 CV fighters lost, 2 CV fighters lost, 6 CV fighters lost, 2 CV fighters lost.
In the end...5 CV fighters were lost. Damage to the US bombers was correct....damage to the CV was correct.
Attached is just one of the battle popups...but the numbers here alone are off.

Combat log shows nothing.

Damage to the CV fighters should be 14...but instead is merely 5.

It is almost like losses are halved or less...
Just wondering...whats up? Makes is impossible to know if you are damaging the CV air units at all.

That seems to be a bug. I notice effectiveness after four battles is 100% too.

I just spend 30m running this and the results were correct simulating the exact same thing.
When checking data be very detailed oriented because it is easy to see something and get confused.
In the next patch I did add CV air losses in the combat logs so that will show.

Any reason that the numbers don't match up at all, basically seem to be about half?
Sorry I could not get pics of every attack...I delayed the pop up to 3 seconds but could not get the screen shot each time.
My message was not great...I mixed two tests because I was so confused as to how far the numbers differed.

That’s weird. Are attacked CVs engaging land AA?

Land based air are attacking the CVs.

Yes I’m asking whether the AA from the initiating hex is participating but not being shown in the final tally. That would maybe explain the ghost losses.

His air is attacking the fleet so the land based AA isn't in the combat.

Correct...You can easily run the scenario.
Start the 41 campaign in hotseat.
Move the Kido Butai near the US coast.
Attack it with your two bombers there...4 attacks.
Watch losses in the pop up.
Then check the Japanese fleet. You will see the numbers are at least half of what the pop up says.
I hit 14 CV planes in my test according to the popups. Only 5 were destroyed on the CVs at sea.

Welp, it is working correctly. Maybe I made a change and forgot to record it after 1.00.01
Just did it 3 more times.
I'm gonna try to push for another patch next week.

Great...I want the Hermes fixed when I play Allies.
Leave it broken when I play Axis.
That should be easy to code.

And here I was hoping this was a thread complaining about how fighters can sink carriers.

Air units are a mix of different air craft.
