SEPTEMBER 1 TO OCTOBER 13, 1939

More or less the usual. Poland falls on the September 15 turn. The Germans destroyed the Copenhagen garrison the same turn but lacked the OPS to occupy the City. If I had a French corps in a port I could have created some problems for Sveint by occupying the City. This would have allowed my fleets to raid the Baltic for at least few turns. But I didn't have a French Corps in port so this is a moot point.

OCTOBER 27, 1939

The Luftwaffe bombs some French Infantry inflicting 3 hits and sustaining 1.

But the thing to note in this screenshot is that the Germans are manning the entire Siegfried Line with divisions. Is this a ruse to get me to do the same with the Maginot Line? Now the guy has me paranoid in both games.

NOVEMBER 10, 1939

2 MS and an escort sunk. So far I have not scored a single hit on the U-Boats.

In France the Luftwaffe makes 6 more bombing strikes on 6 separate targets. Surprisingly, no one is even scratched on either side.

NOVEMBER 24 TO DECEMBER 22, 1939

A whopping 17 MS sunk at a cost of only 2 U-Boat hits. For those keeping track at home, Sveint is so far winning the BOA in both our games. Luxembourg is conquered by the French. The BEF starts arriving in France.

JANUARY 5 TO MARCH 1, 1940

8 more MS sunk over these 4 turns, but at least I scored 2 U-Boat hits. There are now 4 BEF corps in France.

MARCH 15, 1940

Heavy Rain. Another 2 MS and an escort sunk; but 3 U-Boat hits are scored.

UK and Russian Heavy Armour are both lagging.

Upcoming Deployments. The Russians have already built 3 Armour and 2 Mech. Otherwise I have been building almost one large corps per turn.

APRIL 26 TO MAY 24, 1940.

Rain or snow every turn. That is right, all 7 turns of March, April and May have been bad weather. Don't think I have ever seen that before. Only about a 1% chance I think. If I was Sveint I would be whining like crazy.

5 MS sunk during these 3 turns and 2 hits scored on the U-Boats.

JUNE 7, 1940.

The Germans conquer the Netherlands (I forgot to take a screenshot). They are usually 1/2 way to Paris by now.

JUNE 21, 1940

5 MS sunk and 2 U-Boats hits.

Belgium is conquered.

The French Army Advances.

A Bug in the program gains the UK 15 Shipyards for deploying the Dutch Navy from its Deployment queue. So I will have to make sure that I always have at least 15 shipyards in my stockpile. Except I think I already screwed up because I thought it was 5.

JULY 5, 1940

0 MS sunk and 2 hits scored on the U-Boats.

The German Army drove South meeting fierce resistance all the way. The paratrooper looked a little exposed.

The paratrooper unit is shattered. With the new rules it should reappear in a couple turns. In hind sight if I had first retreated the German corps to its North than it would have been permanently destroyed. A major retreat is ordered to shorten the lines.

JULY 19, 1940


The German advance continues. A French unit accidentally surrenders.
