What would have happened if France had a hyper-aggressive and competent (well, I may not be competent, but...) leader in World War 2?

Some fool has been setting up our infantry for defensive fights against tanks, we need to attack!
Maginot will immediately be reduced to division strength. The rest of the army reorganizes for offensive maneuvers.

The Fleet is decent, it will do.

Our air force has too many defensive fighters and far too few offensive bombers. Maybe the Brits will lend us some?

Come to think of it, we demand maximum support from the UK as lend lease.

Napoleon wants landing ships, but France has no free shipyards, impossible!

France builds 30 supply trucks.

Late September 1939

French force are finally getting some semblane of organization. We are almost ready to attack the "soft underbelly".
The Plan is to first take Italian colonies, then Italy itself, finally Germany. Still working on planning that last bit.

Late October

France and the UK declare on Italy. British carriers only manage to damage a CA squadron when they bomb Taranto.

French forces make contact with Italian armored forces on the approaches to Tripoli.

Early November 1939

The British suffer a damaged CV and BB, but otherwise things are going well. Tripoli will soon be in French hands.

Late November 1939

France is victorious! We will continue our offensive while the UK garrisons Tripoli.
Some troops may have to go to the Italian and Belgian fronts on the mainland.

Early december

The French struggle to make progress.

Late december

The Italians are still being pushed back.

Early January 1940

France clears the way and the UK exploits. (Are those French Canadians from the east?)

The French sub is sunk. Its sailors will be honored.

February, France is running low on manpower.

France is "out" of manpower (below 50%) and Germans are gathering on the Italian border. We need to finish taking Tobruk!

By now both the UK and France are running out of oil. It seems pre-war stockpiles were not enough.

March

The Allies are out of oil. Completely. French aircraft cannot fly, and worse, we cannot transport our victorious army back to the mainland.

April

France faces a new challenge as Belgium falls.

Our veterans are still arriving from Libya. Our best corps now has 52% experience, not bad.

Late April

We get lucky and it rains. Still, Napoleon is worried about those panzers, we don't have any!

Early May

The Germans advance, but so far it is nothing catastrophic. The panzers are wearing themselves out and the infantry is nowhere to be seen.

1940-05-24

Catastrophe! The Germans have reached Paris.

June 1940

Paris and Rouen still hold.
