Point system in TLD

Hello Devs,

How does it help to know the cost of a unit?
How does the total points of a BG affect it's fighting capability?
Are those points just a mere reference to find out how strong an active rooster is?
Are reinforcements in a campaign linked to the total points of a BG?

What is the rationale behind the point system in TLD?

I would appreciate if you could clarify those points.

Thank you for the great work supporting this game.

Best regards.

I believe the points are more of a reference of how strong the force is.

In CC3/COI points were enforced and used during a battle, operation and or campaign but are not in TLD/WAR.

In LSA you can set the number of points per BG for single battle in the editor by pressing Shift and clicking on the diamond (map location). You will then get a pop up where you can say which entry VL a BG starts at and how many points each BG can use.

Thank you for your response.

I was hoping that the devs could take a brief look at the code and clarify those points since there is nothing in the manual.

Also thank you for your great mods!

Hi WilliSaenger,

The point value of a unit is a rough measure of its combat power. The point values are used to calculate the overall force balance shown on the Command screen and the Debrief screen.

Traditionally players have also used the point values as a way to set up 'balanced' matches for head-to-head play. I.e. we'll play a single battle with 400 points.

Reinforcements are not linked to point values.
