George Floyd – please no politics

Of course this will be political, it’s a political subject. According to Eric, by placing the phrase “please no politics”, then it is not political. That shows a significant lack of grasping reality.
And to quote Eric - “Some folks are inherently more likely to drop their guard and believe things they otherwise wouldn't believe because of politics. Other folks are more likely to reflexively disagree with something they would otherwise agree with because of politics.” So, in Eric’s mind he and others are above conservatives (such as myself) that are aware of obvious political topics. Whomever does not think COVID is political is again, lacking a grasp of reality.
Then Eric goes on to give his “holier than thou” spin on his selection of internet/media sites. And continues with those that are pro-COVID with their baseless internet citations are trying to engage in intelligent discourse and help others. Jeezus, are you F-ing kidding me!
Next time you moderate something that goes political, just LOCK IT.
Ban me and/or delete this post, I double dog dare you.

Well, you asked for it so you might get it. To me, you are violating the rules by making a personal attack, you are using a vulgar word even if you are not spelling it out, and this is a blatant political post.
Be polite, not everybody is. It is called manners. Do not use the tactics that other people use to denigrate people just because you can. Eric was polite on that thread but not everybody on that thread was polite.
You put George Floyd in the heading yet no discussion of him at all.

If you re-read my post, I did not take a political side, though I did politely state my opinion regarding whether it's a good idea to be vaccinated. I believe no political persuasion has been immune from the issues you quoted me talking about above. Both "sides" are subject to confirmation bias as well as reflexive contrarianism.
A virus is inherently apolitical. Despite politics, we are all humans, many of us are Americans and I put those things above politics and as something we have in common against this virus. There are without a doubt many people on both sides of our politics here in the US who have made those things political and tribal. Nevertheless, there are still facts, there is still truth and any effort to shine a light on truth in the interest of helping our fellow wargamers get through this is worthwhile.
Locking this thread as it is political.
Regards,
- Erik

Finally the main stream media has been defeated and the truth is out about the vaccine and the BLM scam and so many other truths that conservatives knew to be the truth. Please ban me, the wokeness of this site makes me sick. It used to be about gaming.

There are plenty of things to be discussed that are not matrix, slitherine, or any other games that do NOT become political and violate the rules. Please be respectful and . . .

I do not get it. Why not talk about gaming instead? Then it might be about gaming again.
I would like to talk more about gaming.

The very definition of irony. A member wakes up a post that has been sleeping for two years to rant about wokeness and other non-game issues. Then complains about how it used to be all about gaming here.

I hear the policemen acted according to their training and George Floyd died on drug overdose. Any truth there?

Maybe.
Regardless, it's what the Judge rules, is the Law that day in a courtroom (pending appeals, depending on jurisdiction). There's also the Law of the Jungle, Law of Physics, Law of Nature, Law of Public Opinion, you get the idea.
Guys, lets get back to gaming. Have you played: Riot: Civil Unrest? Been couple years for me.
Civil Unrest Riot is a fun game like simulation, beer & pretzels (I don't drink alcohol, but you know what I mean). Send in the "Bats and Hats", to arrest, club, beat the rioters. On the other side, the Mob Mayhem awaits in large numbers with Molotov, Missiles, Fists, etc. to destroy/capture targets. The goal is protect a *key area or allow through points. Like generators, some depot spot.

If you watch the security camera and body cam videos of the Floyd incident, you get a different picture than that painted by the media, which puts forward the fantasy that Floyd was an innocent victim of police brutality based on race.
Floyd didn't deserve to die. He was a victim of Fentanyl and his own stupididity. The lesson to be learned is to straighten up and fly right, and if the police show up, 'Cooperate, don't Suffocate!'
It's not a political issue, it is an issue concerning the administration of a responsible society.

Indeed Shellshock. But what is far worse is that Matrix also allows racist filth to be aired. So much for Derby House Principles eh?.......

I'm impressed by the number of mind readers.
Like a candle searching the inner thoughts & bowels.
If I can harness this power, my poker skills will be 2nd to none.
Fall tournaments coming up.
My friends love the tournaments, whereas I'm a cash player.
Two distinctly different games.
Poker Tournaments have a defined stake, maximum loss know upfront.
Problem with Tournaments, the rakes are too high.
Caesar's Palace has 32% rake! Unreal, assume it's a tourist trap room.
(the one by the Sportsbook/Showrooms/Club)
I let the Casino Host know, too high.
Give unto Caesar is understood, but how much should Caesar get is the argument.
Lowest I've seen is 20%, but average is 25-28%.
Way to high, stick to cash games, where the drop is $3-$6/hand.
Cash games is a whole different beast.
It's about the threshold of the amounts wagered and types of players on the table.
Is the table with regulars or like a local bus stop, moving new players ever 20 minutes.
