Any Axis player ever explored the pros and cons of annexing Switzerland? Sometimes it annoys me to see it sitting in the middle of an otherwise pacified Europe but I'm so indoctrinated by history I've never attempted an invasion.

If you're larping you can do it, it was considered. But in game it's going to screw up your relation with neutrals (spain, sweden IIRC)...

And from what I can tell, Switzerland's territory is close to worthless so very little benefit.

In SP against AI or MP? I would not so in MP for sure. In SP, it's still probably not worth it unless you plan to DOW Spain first and definitely not until US is in war.

I did it playing as Germany. Great fun. Stole all their cuckoo clocks and didn't give 2 hoots about international reaction.

Yep, I do it fairly often at the same time I take out Vichy (early '42). Its suprisingly easy, actually. I just like to see them cry.

Wasn't Switzerland a key trading partner with Germany? Maybe invading should cost future MPP of something.

Rarely done but if you raise relation enough with them you get 5 mpp trade a turn.

Agreed. Switzerland is pretty worthless. Cheese that is mostly holes, rubbish white chocolate, novelty clocks and singing nuns. But it's so easy to take it's worthwhile just to wipe the smug smiles from their rich bankers faces and remind the world you cannot defend a nation with clever pocket knives. That tin opener on the end cannot destroy a tiger tank. It takes hours just to open a can of beans!

The Swiss get some special pass, because they are the world's special bank. Probably a gate to Hell. Surprised the Corporal didn't road trip few squads into.
