Northern Fury #8- Plug the Gap

I've just completed a playthrough of this scenario, specifically the most updated version that was recently submitted for inclusion in the CSP.
To me, the most noteworthy thing to report is that I was able to inflict very bad losses on the Soviet fleet. I got the submarine HMS Turbulent to within less than 2000m of the carrier Varyag. I had her fire a full spread of Spearfish torpedoes, 3 at Varyag and 2 at Kirov.
Turbulent was subsequently blasted by ASW Rockets despite a desperate effort to escape at flank speed. Nonetheless, all five torpedoes hit their intended targets. I do not know how badly Kirov suffered, but Varyag eventually sank, taking her entire remaining air group with her.
Much later, I was able to locate the Gorshkov Group. My main attacks were with Buccaneers and Jaguars, which caused major damage to the Soviet ships. Subsequent attacks with my surface forces sink several of Gorshkov's escorts, but I'm unable to sink the carrier before the time limit runs out, but the BDA is that Gorshkov is crippled and will probably go under at some point.
While this probably doesn't line up with the official course of events, I'm very happy with the damage I inflicted on the Soviets.
