Problem with Advancements

I have noticed in a current game that when advancements are applied to a unit it does not give it the current tech level (year), but seems to apply the year of the previous advancement.
For example, a Soviet infantry corps that is currently at 1939 assault and then upgraded to 1941 anti-tank: The anti-tank is instead applied as 1939 anti-tank.

I have tried this on several units and it reoccurs,

Has anyone else seen this occurring?

Hi,

A unit can not upgrade from 39 Assault to 41 anti-tank (only to 40 Assault and then latter to 41 assault). You probably changed the advancement of the assault unit by choosing that option.

When you change the advancement, you will see all other advancement options and the level (year) at which they are. But a unit can not "jump advancements" when changing.

When converting to a different path (advancement), a unit will always stay at the same advancement level it is at (39 in your example) or even go lower if it goes from an advancement that was more advanced than the one it is changing to.

If not, it will mean you would get free advancements!
