Several times I have tried to invade with units of various types and sizes (Marines, Regiments, Brigades, etc.)in hexes that are beach invasion hexes but get the error message “No selectable units to invade or disembark” and I am not able to figure out why. What am I missing? (often, these are hexes and units that I have 'invaded' in other played games against the AI)

I have seen this for two reasons...though their may be more.

1) You do not have enough landing craft.
2) The beach hex is under your control alread.

Also occurs if you have already used the hex for an invasion. One beach one invasion per.
I believe it can also happen if a fleet is already in the hex you are going to use and has expended all its action points. Your transports enter and take on the same state. But I haven't verified this. I believe it happens when you use the hex to resupply a land unit before bringing in your transports.

I am able to invade multiple times on the same beach...I do it right next Batavia all the time.

BUT that is because it is not under your control "yet".

I get a green invasion marker.


BUT do NOT put other ships in the hex. That messes up landings.

You can disembark to an owned beach. it does cost LCs
