Is there any scenario randomization?

To be more precise.

I have been working on Road to Leningrad.

If you read other threads, then you know I have invested time in restructuring Pz4 (both commands, divisions, and SUs) to make the most potent ASSAULT force possible.

Pretty much I got all the house keeping done, and we are really rolling on Pskov by the start Turn #5.

Question: If I refight the battle from turn #5 a number of times to avoid redoing the house keeping, will I miss out? Does the AI make high level random decisions which will be entirely different in a new game starting from scratch?

Thanks.

The game has a lot of variance around the means so that always comes into play.

Broadly the AI makes decisions at 2 levels:

a) how to best achieve its goals this turn - so fairly variable
b) how to deal with some situations. You'll see this more with the axis AI but every now and then it will carry out a large movement. Egs are pulling back around Stalingrad, and out of the Baltic States if you make gains along the Dauga

The problem with a mid-game point is that you will never pick up data saves as those are mostly set when the scenario is generated.

What might work is to take your save, create a scenario (.scn) file and that *might* pick up the wider changes - but don't trust me on this [;)]
