So only one can move to the two others which are not in the same place. Are you pretty much prevented from ever putting this group back together since you cannot change HQ and move the other two?

Since you bring it up, let's see what others do/think. I've never actually brought a division together and unified it when it starts broken down into components (not thirds). Is it common or normal for other players to do that?

I can't stand divided parts. [:@] I always strive to combine them back together. If some troops are parts of a division, I always try to assemble this division. And so on.

Yes, I will. The division will sometimes get new devices not found in the components.

These units. One at Takeo and one at Fukuoka cannot change HQ or be moved...

Mine as well. That is why pictures are so nice.

Disband the A and B detachments at Takao, then bring the parent unit at Fukuoka up to strength. There are other units with Nates and Babs at Takao which will be glad to absorb the airframes and pilots of the disbanded detachments.

Regarding recombining ground units - when playing tbe Japanese side I tend to keep a few "scattered" divisions to cover garrison requirements. The 55th Div for example, one Rgt at Bangkok, one at Singer, the three Inf Bns one each at Kuala Lumpur, Georgetown and Phnom Penh abd the Cav Rgt at Pisanulok. 2nd Div is great to cover Mindanao with its 3 Bns and Manila with a Rgt, leaving one Rgt for expeditionary duties or garrison at HK or Saigon or else.

The unit in Japan cannot leave Japan. One unit in Takeo cannot leave Takeo. So you have the other one in Takeo that can change HQ and fly to Japan. But cannot combine without the other unit from Takeo that cannot move. I've changed them all to Nates and that does not help...

They can provided the bases are under the same command which they are. The real problem you have is aircraft range, at 20 the nates can't reach. Fly them to Kagoshima first, either way.

PDU Off. Nates ok?

PDU off I think you’re ok as you can only change aircraft to what the Inspector General of Aviation has already decided.
Click the on the “Do not upgrade” yellow text and see what the future upgrades are.

Air units that have "Det." as part of their names are permanently detached and cannot be recombined. Usually the type of aircraft they fly and their upgrade paths are completely different from the "parent" unit.

That’s not the case for all “dets”, eg: 4th or 77th Sentai dets can be combined back into the parent.
