This is not about what should be built first but about build order after upgrading. In this example the Fission reactors are built first. I now want to upgrade to another reactor but after doing so the the new reactor is built last. This does matter if I upgrade existing ships as it's only three compnents and takes little time but it does when building from new.

Just wondering for those designing DW2 has this been taken into account.

I'm not sure about this so you will have to check it..... this is not an issue that has ever concerned me
But I have a memory of posts etc which gave me the notion build order is determined by design order
So when you know what your design is then place the components into the design template in the order you want them built
Maybe?
