When ACMs are disbanded in bases do they automatically restock fuel to work or do you have to keep checking on them to refuel? Same for other tenders (repair ships)for supply? Automatic or do you have to manage/restock them?

Ok so micro the ACMs for fuel. I'm assuming you do the same thing for repair tenders that require supply.

I'm surprised that didn't get changed in a patch. I think I have left the ACMs on the west coast for months or years at a time without refueling them, and I am starting to suspect that they do a sneaky minimal refuel when they get to zero.

Sounds like a sandbox test is needed Ian. Wish I had the time....GP

There is no need for a "sandbox" test.

ACMs were altered in two patches:

1. Patch #1, Code Change #51 which now made an ACM consume fuel whilst maintaining a mine field, and

1. Patch #7, Change #49 which now made the ACM consume it's own endurance/fuel rather than consuming the Port's fuel stocks.


The actual amount of endurance used is rather small, hence it can take a very long time before the ACM's own endurance level is fully consumed. When that has occurred I have had to manually refuel the ACM.

AEs and AKEs that are replenishing TFs also have to be manually reloaded once depleted.

There are convenient buttons in the port interface for Refueling and Reloading ships disbanded into the port.

How to repair a factory? The number 7 continues to remain in parentheses.

You have to have at least 10k in supplies at the base and if it is a research factory, it may not repair during the turn.

Research factories are most efficient at size 30.

The only caveat I will add is that Japan has some short winded ACM's that will likely need refueling about once a month. Especially if you dump multiple minefields in the base as I often do.

Just check all of your ships, select only the mine warfare vessels, then sort by their endurance.

That works for supply carrying tenders of all types and for fuel to AOs. Also note that the button only applies one phase worth of loading - 1000 points - so you get half as much as you would get if the ship was put in a TF and docked where it would load in both phases.

But beware - if you are trying to upgrade one of these ships they need to have empty holds before they will start their upgrade. After they do, you can load them using the buttons while they finish the refit.

I've got the Holly in San Diego on 365/2600 remaining endurance, tending a minefield, so I'll leave it alone and see what happens at zero.
