I just don't find it too realistic

Most troops are equipped with envirosuits which can withstand the heat of the atmosphere, so standing near lava shouldn't be too great a hassle. I highly doubt in any way that they're wading through the lava, regular water rivers already give an AP malus to movement when traveling near them, I assume the same can be said of lava rivers. Consider the AP malus to them moving across a lava river the extra time and effort they need to establish a ferry for crossing, though what that "ferry" is as good as your guess as mine.

Standing by/walking along is OK. Just crossing a lava river hundred meteres wide is my concern. You put an iron or a wooden bridge?

Mechanized units cannot cross such rivers by the way.

No wonder you have issues. You somehow got that idea of a ludicrous hundred meter wide lava river!
