I count 65 books on my shelves that I have bought since my original purchase of WitP AE. By my calculation, I have spent $3,000 on books and about $75 for the game.

I started with the classics, Morison and Prange, then went to some more recent stuff. I was blown away by Parshall & Tully's Shattered Sword.

Far and away the lowest cost per hour of enjoyment of any game in my long life.

Very impressed with the "library ladder".

Is that Fire in the Sky on the second top left shelf?

I've been meaning to get that.

I spent like a hundred on books, i new most of that stuffs anyway. The game i paid for was around a hundred as well.

Not mention, how much man hours they put in on this game. I bet took them along time, but most of those details arent good passed on from older series.

Where are the pics of neglected wifes, angry girlfiends, overgrown lawns, unwashed dishes?

You are presuming that there are wives, girl friends, lawns, and washable dishes. I think that is presuming too much . . .

Neglected cats, on the other hand, usually have means to get your attention when they want it.

Pictures like this make me regret buying e-books all the time, because I can't have a nice and classy bookshelf like this. [:D]

E-books don't hurt someone either if they are hit with one . . .

I have the very same problem about the historical games I have bought so far, unfortunately most of them have been just skimmed without a proper reading session.

Anyhow, if you know the series, I would love to see a Then and Now book by After the Battle about the Pacififc.

The ladder seems overkill, but it sure looks nice! [:D]

In my defense, the ceilings are over 13' in that room, or over 4 meters if you prefer. Note that you cannot see the floor in the pic.
The real problem with the ladder is where the bar crosses the top shelf--all large books have to be laid flat to be able to get to them. Of course, that also protects those books, so that is where the Garzke and the Lacroix books go. If you have bought those, you know what I mean...

Yes, good eye. And Touched with Fire is right next to it. Both are excellent.

Neglected wife, hands on hips, mouth taut, eyes fiery, was carefully cropped out of the picture.

The Burma Campaign was another huge hole in my knowledge of the war. I highly recommend the Allen book for those who want a one-and-done overview.

Nik got me on to the Shore books. Amazing detail of air operations from both sides in the DEI and Burma.
