Getting "Land units must disembark..." or "No available land hexes for..." alert messages whenever selecting fleet units in Steam edition of Warplan. Is this intentional or a bug? Thanks,

Not aware of any bug like this. I see the message from time to time but it is normally something I did wrong.

Are you right click disembarking?
Is the port and surrounding hexes full during disembark?

Alvaro, no, I get the messages just moving fleets in mid-ocean. I can be far from port and get the messages.

I will post a screen shot later today although it really is not likely going to provide any more insight into the issue.

Can't duplicate the issue on replay today. Will save the game file and take an image next time it recurs and will post it here. Thanks,

Wonder if something got messed up in the game you were running at the time?

I have had things like...cant place a unit then I have to do something else and I can.

Is it a PBEM or a game versus AI?

Here is an example: 2 US infantry Corps embarked on transports in mid-Atlantic. It is a game against the AI.

Another eg.:

And now, June 21, 1942. The UK and US have declared war on Vichy France North Africa and have US units next to Rabat and UK units next to Oran. Both ports are empty and there are no enemy units near and I get the "No valid adjacent land hexes to disembark" error message when I click the "Show invasion/ Disembark Hexes D" button. I have invaded in many WarPlan and WarPlan Pacific games.

Curious. What to do? Am I doing something wrong?

That error doesn't happen anywhere. Do you have ALT, CONTROL, or SHIFT key locked somewhere?

Worst case uninstall reinstall. But this error... never has happened.

This is it. Be sure to have this option turned off.

I do have the option turned on, ncc1701e. I will turn it off and give it a go and report back. Was ready to uninstall Steam version and install Matrix version and proceed. Thanks.

In fact, this option is activating ALT, CONTROL, or SHIFT keys if you are pressing on their icon keys on the upper right of the main window.

Still don't understand what is happening or what I did or what or why? It is what it is.

It is a feature for handicapped players that was not fully tested. It is possible it isn't functioning right. I will check it out.

Got it! Thanks, Alvaro. I am visually impaired and I used the option for this reason. I can manage with it off.
