I have got the 2.1 version of SUDG. I found the MOD.zip in the Data folder, then found the .PDF file on the disk that explains (?) how to change the race images, i followed it to the letter (using robot.sh, there example) but the moment i click new game or option the game bombs to desktop, the .PDF is a bit grey as to where the files go exactly (see below).

"Customizations
==============
You can now customize the star names, font, faces and starships. Here's how.
First off, when I say Stun folder, I'm referring to the folder that contains the game executable, sudg.exe
All customizations and file references are done in the Data subfolder of the Stun folder. You'll have to copy the appropriate files into the Stun folder to see their effects. (WTF ?? this line goes against the last !!!)
Samples are given for each. The race faces and ship graphics require 24-bit, uncompressed TGA files (like the samples provided)."

Could some kind person please list the correct locations for the files? (ive tried the example files in BOTH places, still no joy)

E.G Data Folder
Robot.sh
Robot.tga
Robot1.tga
Robot2.tga

Etc

Thanks

P.S I can usually bypass the intro etc, but it is soooooo annoying to watch Matrix Games and the Apezone adverts unable to click through....usually theres a config file that you can edit, for Modding its frikkin useless !!! how can i stop the adverts??

Sorry to hear the mods are causing you problems. Should work right out of the box. The files go into the same folder as where the game executable is. Here's a picture:
Stun folder
sudg.exe
Data folder
mods (e.g. robot.sh, aliens.txt)

Copy robot.sh and aliens.txt to the Stun folder. Edit aliens.txt (in the Stun folder) so that one of the entries has "robot.sh". Save file. The Stun folder should look as follows:

Stun folder
sudg.exe
aliens.txt (modified, see below)
robot.sh

The modified aliens.txt file may look as follows:
-----------------------
robot.sh
2
3
...
10
-----------------------

Run the game to see the changes.

As for getting rid of movies, just go into the Movies subfolder and either rename or move the .avi files.

Thanks

Thanks !!! :D

It still seemed weird so i re-read the PDF with a coffee about ten times, the bit that was throwing me was saving the robot.sh to the STUN/DATA folder then copying it back to the parent with the aliens.txt. I followed the PDF and your post, tried again and it worked !! :D

Im so used to changing a data file for the loading movies i forgot to check for a subfolder  im blonde and thats my excuse and im sticking to it !!

Thanks again :)
