Why particularly were the output of this phase written to a text file?

What makes this different from the output of ground combat phase?

Just curious. (as I checked; even when deleted, all this data is in the save)

There used to be a method to output the ground combat phase to file but the file was HUGE! and many complained so it does not seem to be working any more.

The events log is a great way to debug some of the obscure but vital sections of the code that are not easily tracked otherwise.
