Tactical Bomber vs Carrier Damage?

I saw a tactical bomber with level 0 naval attack (4 base attack vs carriers) do 6 damage to a carrier with level 1 fighters (3 base defense vs bombers). I believe both were a little over 100% readiness. This seems quite high, any ideas what could have caused that?

Well, were they intercepted?

I believe so but also escorted.

Yeah so it is hard to say, to me. I am unsure of the battle outcome algorithm. I don't know if 'critical hits' are a thing with it. While nailing 6/10's of the unit's 'health' is a good chunk, it doesn't seem unreasonable, especially if there wasn't much damage to the tac air.
I would like to hear more about the combat algorithm, but suspect there are several variations, especially for the sea combat. I mean, consider Elessar2's question about "when exactly do Fighters (and Carriers in Fighter mode) use their Attack & Defense? Is Attack used in Interceptions, or in Escorting? Is Defense used only when strafed or bombed directly?" this thread:

It's sticky.

If TAC was attached to high level, experienced HQ, this result doesn't seem beyond probability.

Agreed. I would want that result, truthfully.
