How does ammo count works?

I'm aware that the aircraft bomb count and tank main gun ammo count is more or less reflecting the reality and pretty straight forward, but how the vehicles' and aircrafts' auto cannon and machinegun ammo count works? Does it actually means number of burst rather than the actual ammo amount?

Correct, it is a burst found for those high rate of fire weapons.

Thanks for your answer Darwin. I also want to know that what is the difference between two slot of a same weapon and one slot of a weapon (for example, the Mi24VP in game have two slot of 4 atgm)? What will happen if I change 2 slot of 4 atgm to 1 slot of 8 atgm?

For aircraft and helos I tried to layout the weapon stations so something like an AH-64 would be rocket pod, 4 x Hellfire, Autocannon, 4 x hellfire, and the other rocket pod. If coded with the right specials the only thing having two of a system would do is a bump up in ROF for an attack sequence. This will be similar in Southern Storm with a bit more fine control on ammo counts and usage.

So basically no difference? Same thing appiles to aircraft (1 slot of 5 bombs vs 5 slots of 1 bombs) right?

In Red Storm that is correct.
