Starting A Multiplayer Game

Going to start one of the smaller scenarios as the soviets as a co-op game with friends and had a few questions about how people normally run their games and the general environment of how a multiplayer game should go. Any other tips for MP/Co-op would be greatly appreciated.

-What is your opinion of the PBEM system?
-How do players usually divide up command? I would be interested in an answer for this for the grand campaign as well. Do people choose a front and manage that area for the whole war? Or do you control certain generals and their subordinates until they are replaced/killed etc.? Can one player be a dedicated air player?
-What is a smart way to divide up units coming in from scheduled reinforcements and theater boxes?
-If we want to edit some things with the editor, is there a way to distribute the edited game files so everybody's game is running with the same edited files?

It all depends a lot on how the players organize it themselves. PBME is a game with a password so that the opponent does not know where your troops are and what you are up to.
Usually in 4x4 parties, the 1 commander system is used, he also combines the work of aviation, this is relative to vite2, and 3 direction commanders. North-Center-South.

In addition to aviation, the commander-in-chief usually deals with the logistics and repair of the railway, the distribution of reinforcements and the management of other theaters.
