Supply through ZOC?

Curious as how this can be possible? Supply for the Engineer and Armored unit would have to pass between two enemy units.

If the enemy already has hex ownership on a hex you'll have to either have a unit in the hex to flip hex ownership OR have significantly more ZoC than the enemy have on it to flip ownership without moving a unit into the hex. I don't remember the ratio off the top of my head but it's something like 400% more.

Since the enemy still has ownership of the hex, supply can travel through it.

hummmm..supply in that situation should be subject to a form of intercept etc. drastically reducing supply reaching that Arm. unit and to units NE...[&:]

It is the case, when in an ennemy ZOC, the supply line have to pay additional AP to move though like others units, and it can reduced the amount of supply received.

That was my thought.
1. I would definitely think the both German units would have overwatch on the road.
2. I highly doubt a supply unit would venture up that road and if they did, they would immediately turn around
3. The US units may "be in supply" but I doubt they are GETTING supply

In the phase where units are supplied and given replacement troops the actual hex ownership is temporarily calculated. This is done by expanding hex ownership from assured ownership hexes (cities, units, supply bases) to their neighbours. This is first done for hexes connected by road and then done for hexes not connected by road.

In the initial image. If the 12SS Pz's would have een on the road south-west of their hex they would have blocked the supply.

I did note a small prognosis error in predicting enemy supply layer, will be fixed upcoming open beta v1.00.05

best wishes,
Vic

Soooooo, you're saying, the supply in the case Loutro displays is NOT blocked...UNLESS the 12ss pzr unit moves SW to the end of the ridge......and in that case IF the US arm unit has supply and ap can they can move NW into the ridge hex the 122S vacated?

I find hex ownership very confusing and hardly explained at all in the manual.

In the situation in the screenshot, supply should be heavily affected. It makes no sense for supply to travel through. If the game only differentiates categorically between "friendly controlled" and "enemy controlled" hexes, this might be the issue. There needs to be gradual ownership values based on the ZOCpoints each side has? In the same vein, I don't think that supply gets slowed down by enemy ZoCs (+10AP)? At least when I check my supply routes via mouse-over, they don't seem to pay 10AP extra for known enemy zones of control?

I think the immediate tactical solution is to get a unit directly on the road, claim ownership and definitely halt that passage of supply. My understanding is there are some complex recon calculations going on to determine hex ownership and supply passage. However within the game, you are never going to be able to figure out those calculations and you have to rely on the conditions as presented by the game. So best to get on with the job and solve the problem with the troops you have on hand.

A game that puts a heavy focus on suppply needs clear rules on supply routes/hex control.
So far, I do not understand how hex control is determined, and the manual doesn't tell me either. So, when I advance into a gap in the enemy line, how do I know if I cut off the opponent or if the opponent cuts off me?
