Could you please list the actual weapon system doing the damage instead of the generic 'FLAK' description?

There is no current way to attribute a particular flak hit to a particular gun. The system works differently from the way ground combat works.

wow. that was definitely not the response i expected.

somehow individual AA units are not tracked in combat?

it almost sounds like all the AA are pooled together and they fire as a group at each aircraft.

What about range (or ceiling)?

Do you track what the current range to the aircraft is when you resolve FLAK?

Joel, I am getting the impression that some of the equipment specs were never actually implemented or are currently used.

... and you are hesitant to admit it, so instead you give overly vague responses like -

"it just doesn't work the same as ground combat"

... and why some of the equipment data is completely wacko, you guys aren't using it! If you were, you would have identified some of the things I'm noticing and probably would have fixed it already. (you would have had to)

Also explains why some of the unit & equipment fields are clearly lacking in documentation.

Yes, it accounts for altitude, etc. when firing, but yes, it does amalgamate AA together in the resolution process. So it's a bit of both. But unlike ground combat, we don't pick one gun and have it shoot at one plane and then pick another gun, etc.

It knows the values of the different weapons at the different altitudes.
