Winter Steam sale is now on and Germany at War: Soviet Dawn is $8:

I have Matrixgames Germany at War Barbarossa 1941 with last update.
The Steam version has an additional update so considering purchase.
Any thoughts?

I was also hoping that Cauldrons of War Barbarossa & Stalingrad would be on sale but they are not.
They seems good Decisive Campaigns Barbarossa & Fall Blau lite game

Germany at War is a great game to add to the series on offer from the same developer, if you like the type and what he has to offer then i'd recommend it as i own and play it and well worth it

I have the Barbarossa version, what is the difference between the two?

The Stalingrad game has a very unique mechanic which I'm all for. Put it this way I didn't ask for a refund. The innovation appealed to me. WOrth checking out, as I said you can always ask for a refund if you don't like.

I agree that Matrixgames Germany at War Barbarossa 1941 is very good, along with the updates to version 1.09
The Steam version Germany at War Soviet Dawn will be the only version supported from now on.

Here is what is posted in Steam community hub for Germany at War Soviet Dawn:
Germany at War was originally published in 2013 also via Matrix Games and was my first release under the Phobetor label.

Germany at War - Soviet Dawn is the latest release and includes all mods(player made maps/campaigns), bug fixes and expansions (e.g. the Soviet Dawn campaign, new rule sets, more equipment etc.) that were made from 2013-2020.

It is also the only version that will be supported and get more content in the future.

If you have bought GaW at Matrix you can get an update to 1.09 containing "Soviet Dawn" for free on our website.

I have watched game videos and read game reviews on both the Barbarossa & Stalingrad titles. Impressed by the many options (taking prisoners or not).
I will probably go for both since I like the ebb & flow of the Eastern Front, but not monster game Eastern Front (WITE 1 & 2)
