Is this specialty only for the unit having it? Or, if one attack is done by three units, one of them having this specialty, does it help the two other units?

Thanks

I have always assumed it is only for the unit, but that is just an assumption to be honest.

having just conducted a pretty large experiment in game utilizing 6 winterized units acting in concert with many non winterized units, my guess(which I would be pretty confident it) is that the winterization effects only the unit with the specialty.

Hope a combination of Heavy Artillery, Infiltrator and Winterized works. I will try. [;)]

Let's say I have a unit that has an attack strength of 20. According to the manual, it would gain a 100% bonus if winterized when attacking in snow or a blizzard. Using snow as an example, I calculate that with the weather penalty and adding the bonus gives an attack strength of 26. Is that correct?

ncc1710e, I would be interested in hearing how your combination works out. It still seems to me that winterization is not a very efficient specialty considering that it only applies for a limited number of turns each year.

One thing that IS good about winterization is that you recover effectiveness much faster. That’s of course balanced by the fact that you can onlyuse it for maybe 6 turns. But the axis troops get worn down and can’t recover while your troops, if you are rotating them and supply tricking them, stay relatively effective.

Over good terrain I think it could work. That said, unless used ideally, I would tend to agree with your assessment Canuck.
