Numbers on the map

I have somehow changed my map settings. Now some of the hexes have number on them. I have no idea what they mean and they annoy me, but I don't know how I turned them on or how to get rid of them.

You may have accidentally pressed the '4' key which brings up country codes. Just press it again.
