Sorry for a trivial question, but how to start a game with a live opponent?

I click: "pbem ++online" ... And what's next ?

Do you already have an opponent?
In that case one of you has to host the match and give the PW to the other who can then join.

If not you can either jump into any open match (no lock sign) or host an open match yourself, though I would strongly advise against either of those. Instead make a thread here and ask for an opponent. It's always better to talk a bit before the match: strength level, avg turns per day, houserules etc etc... Saves a lot of frustration later on, believe me!

Take the time to set up beforehand. The time involved in Multiplayer warrants setting things up through here and Matrix PM (Personal Mail). That way expectations on turn turn around, any houserules, and personal live intrusions during the match that may delay a return turn can be discussed.

Setting up a match as Public I would not recommend either.
Just post here like you have in the forum...and have them contact you here or personally through a PM.

Takes time to curate folks that will stick it out win or lose. Unfortunately there are a lot of ghosters out there, but Judycator you started in the right place to get started.
