China war ends too early, want up to 1945

Hello I played the China war twice as Japan and was in the middle of a hot war both times when the timer ended my game suddenly. It says the war in China ended when Germany invaded Poland, but I don't think this reason makes sense because the historical war in China continued until Japan surrendered in 1945.

The battle is very hard cause both times my landing near Shanghai was wiped out despite that I built a destroyer flotilla to help supply the beachhead. My troops held out for awhile but were overwhelmed by steady Chinese attacks. So I relied on the overland invasion which ground through the Chinese defenses fairly well, but I ran out of time and lost very badly on the scorecard. Both games, the allies got a major victory and it said I did worse than historically which made sense cause I didn't take Shanghai or Changdu. I actually failed quite badly which I don't mind at all because I am new to the game and expect to lose some games and enjoy learning.

Despite my two losses, I think the battle has much more depth than the short timer allows. Maybe there could be a second full China war scenario added? Then people who like their games getting cut off suddenly by the timer can enjoy the shorter one, and slow grinding players (I lack the flair to do the fast "easy" win in China that other people claimed they achieved) can play through a full historical battle.

Please consider this. Thank you for reading and thanks for the interesting game.

The thing is that so much more went on with the Pacific War that impacted that theater. To adjust for that is difficult.

You can edit the scenario and set the date to 1945. It's easy.
Editor -> open China 1937 -> Campaigns (upper left) -> End Date (set to say Aug 8th 1945)

If you have the save game still I can modify it for you to make it 1945.

Thanks Alvaro. I will do that and start a new game. I learned from some mistakes and need to start again.

Alvaro how do I save the edited campaign? I only see X and Quit editor. I changed the end date but it goes back to 1939.

Looks like I was able to save it using the File/Quit button in the middle top. I hope I did it right. I reloaded and the new 8aug45 date is there now.

Thanks Alvaro. Sorry for late thanks.
The reason I am back is I want to extend the 1942 scenario too so I don't feel intense worry about the impending deadline (especially if I have some big yummy bombers still in the factories when the final bell dings which would spiral me into a depression from not being able to use them).

Please leave a note if extending this date will make the game stop working properly. I think it will okay, but I worry there could be some scripting under the hood that will go nuts.

Should be ok but your VPs will be off compared to the win total.

If you are just looking to conquest then you are fine.
