I am buying Coastal Defense around the city. This is not a magic solution. But it helps to defend the city.

Beware there is a small bug right now. So you need to put the infantry corps/army before putting the Coastal Defense and then don't move.

I have tried that...did not help.
To few USSR units to hold and do you send good armies to defense Leningrad or Moscow.

The opportunity cost of coastal defense is atrocious. Buy more units.

This is just 20 x 6 = 120 PP. This is the price of one infantry rifle corps.

I would say the one next to Leningrad in the Finland area is probably not worth it. You end up with a rifle corps being attacked by 3 Finish large corps...so it will just get destroyed. Save it and move it to the river line south of there.

I do not mind the ones south of Leningrad...and will do that sometimes.

they only help if some one is attacking from a coastal or beach hex so not sure how much that will help worth a try

Actually I do not believe that is true. They give more defense to the entire hex like a fortress.

I remember Al had stated it was not possible in the current engine to program only beach attacks to be affected so it simply just helped the hex overall.
