At the start of some missions I feel confused as to which units are where. Is there a way to check details (F2) of embarked units? It always shows the unit carrying it instead.

You can press TAB

Or you can right click on the center of the unit in the Unit List

Otherwise, at the moment, you cannot check out the details for a passenger.

Definitely adding that to the wish list though.

In fact, for CSVN v1.10, I am considering implementing Alt+F2 to invoke the Unit Handbook for the (implicit) selected passenger.

Great! This addition would make player's life much easier in bigger scenarios!

I'm glad to see how the community is heard and you make this great game grow, which has me very trapped in its networks, keep it up and you're getting to be the best strategic game in Vietnam so far, I hope that in that patch they add the power to select the texts of the missions, as can be done in the John Tiller games to be able to use google translator and thus help those who do not speak English.
