I want to play Blood and Coal with pbem as the Viet Minh but it will only let me select side A. Am I missing something? I know if you don't go first you can usually still start the game or is that in the other Tiller games and I am confused?

It is a known issue with PBEM, with the 1.10 UPDATE available this week, the SIDE B player will be able to start that scenario as the SIDE B starts first.

The upgrade did NOT solve this problem. You still can not select side B and the French still move first.

There is a misunderstanding here.

Blood and Coal, the Battle of Mao Khe, is a Side A First Side scenario:


You can only launch a PBEM game playing as the First Side. If you want to play Side B (the Viet Minh) in this scenario in a PBEM match, you must have your PBEM partner launch the scenario as the First Side Side A player (the French).

In short, this scenario starts (whether PBEM or not) with the First Side as Side A, period.

It is imperative that we block any attempt to start a PBEM match from the Second Side, because there are issues with that.

Sorry for any confusion. But I believe this all to be WAD.

If the scenario is a SIDE A start, then the SIDE A player must start the PBEM.

If the scenario is a SIDE B start, then the SIDE B player must start the PBEM.

This is by design and necessary due to Lua.
