Suggestion Thread

A thread for all your silly suggestions.
I'll start. There needs to be an interface size between Standard and Small. Standard is too large, where too few things are listed in the "Control Center" panels. Small is too small, with me having to squint to read things at 1080p. A happy medium would be preferable.
Edit: It appears my suggestion must have already been voiced in the beta... there is a "Control Center Listing Size" option! Wow...
P.S. Congratulations to the team! Today is the big day. I've yet to play actually start playing this morning, as I've just been exploring the settings, menus, and galactopedia for an hour or so haha.

INDIVIDUAL SHIP QUEUES!
Yes please. So far this is my biggest gripe.
Also it would be nice to drag a selection box around something to select it. Some of the icons are pretty tiny to try to click.

This is already possible. Hold Ctrl and then drag with the left mouse button. You can change a setting in the settings menu to make this the default so you don't have to hold Ctrl.

INDIVIDUAL SHIP QUEUES!
Great day, I've been waiting for this!
I must concur with que orders which is important with exploration and station building etc. I used to ctrl + right click the mining/exploration ships in the first sector to explore based on closest items, and a while later in the game que orders to explore closest systems, then sectors etc. Of course one can always use the automate order.

Star Background in systems too dense and too bright for my taste. Its little disorienting and makes the screen too "busy". In DWU I preferred lower background star count so the game graphics would stand out better. It would be nice to have a setting for it in the options.

There should be a listing of the Bonus for each Research Category, similar how you got a total overview of All bonuses from Race, Government and others.
I would propably put the summed score into the Research screen.

There's a list for this. It's the Research Bonus Amounts tab in the research section of the command center.

INDIVIDUAL SHIP QUEUES!
This, exactly the same for me. The only reason why I left the game for.
Another wish would be a switch to turn off the pop up hint windows.
But I want to queue my explorer ship some asteroids.. please..
everything else so far very well done.
the encyclopedia has text that overlaps/is cut off. but hey, .. i can live with that

What are "Individual Ship Queues"?
You can already queue each ship via the Spaceport UI and via the builder UI.

Being able to queue orders for an individual ship e.g. to first move to Earth, then move to Jupiter, then attack a target, then refuel at Mars.

New Colony
The New Colony List should include the preseence of Ruins and a indicator if it is not fully explored.
New Mining Locations
This one should include if there are unknown resources yet to be found, as wlle as the lack of Exploration
Quest Indicators
I could have sworn there was one in the stream, but I have no indicator of where the spots for the racial quests are.

i wish there was an empire policy setting to "always keep fighters launched" on/off, one mutton for stations and one for ships.
so they swarm around stations and carriers all the time.
----------------------------------------
also an empire policy setting about "ignore disabled ships" might be good if you want to repair and take over enemy ships and not blow them up.

During testing we had a problem with carriers flying off without there fighter's. So the solution may have created this issue....GP

There is a "launch all fighters" order among the Fighter Management. Of course it is only availible for one ship.
As for having them out all the time:
Consider that they do still burn fuel and can not be given energy. Collectors.
Also consider that especially for a carrier, any fighter not back when it jumps will be a total loss. And later Hyperdrives charge and move fast.

haha yea i can see how that can be a problem

... well carriers could "wait" while the fighters get called back when they plan to hyperjump.
i wish the little shuttles would actually transport items... i.e. when a freighter wants to pickup 550 steel they send out 6 shuttles (each can carry 100 items) and they wait till the shuttles come back...
but everything is based on "per second" so sadly that doesnt work... ans small frighters are loaded in 5 seconds and barely send out one shuttle and they already turn around again to fly off XD
would make it look a bit nicer if they would wait a bit for freight to get shipped over with shuttles.
or similar with mining stations the little shuttles could pickup items from asteroids/planets and then fly to the station to transfer it... but the per second mining makes things less a mess so the shuttles are just cosmetic.
still great the little shuttles were added... they look great flying around

Kind of going down the rabbit hole of "individual ship queues" is more detail for giving exploration ships orders.
I've noticed that when on Fully Automate that they get really bogged down surveying asteroids, and the only way out of that is to manually control what they survey. I'm still in early game so maybe with better technology to accelerate this process it is less of an issue later on when they survey asteroids.
I'm at a point in the early game where I've just got the bubble drive and can finally get outside my own system and I really need to find some Caslon because the single source I have isn't enough to keep my home planet in the green with supply. Not only that but the fuel tankers need to return to the home system to reload fuel.
I'd like to be able to send my exploration ships to automatically search a system for Caslon (or insert any other resource for that matter). That would mean they would automatically move on to the next system immediately upon arrival when they see there are no gas giants at all. If they get to a system with at least one gas giant then they would start systematically exploring each one until they find Caslon. If they search all gas giants in the system and find no Caslon then they move on to the next system.
Having to do this manually even with only half a dozen exploration ships is really consuming all my attention. I can't imagine doing this later on with 30 exploration ships.
