I got pirates on my own HW ! Do they possess a hidden starbase somewhere? Also, even getting to the detailed planet screen, there is no indication they have anything on my planet. unless that's hidden? Just making sure there is no bug and I'm in for a surprise like in DW1

I found a computer core in space, that was retrieved by one of my explorer. Then the little guy went refueling to my space station. How do I know it deposited the core, what does it do?

I'm not sure what you mean by "pirates on your homeworld".

Debris that is picked up is either converted into raw materials onboard the ship that picked it up, or an immediate bonus (money, map info, tech). In the latter case you get a notification message. If you didn't get any message, there was nothing of use in the salvage.

That's probably the result of you not actually knowing where the pirate base is. It's just a UI quirk.
