how can I add more then one Type of Shipclass to a Fleet template? for example, I want have a railgun Frigate and a Missle Frigate in the same fleet Template.

Not possible at the moment, unfortunately. This is something I want as well.

The advanced hulls are essentially upgrades over the basic ones, with three flavors that don't differ all that much. You should probably just pick whichever one you like best and roll with that.

Hopefully this will improve in future updates. For now, you can still have different designs for the same class in different fleet templates. That's better than nothing.

yeah, at least I can make a Fleetversion as Support ship and a Version to Operate only with Escorts as independed defense patrols.

Unfortunately the Fleet templates only support 1 Design/Role.

This has annoyed a number of people, but for the moment those are the rules.

This was requested in the beta and was one my bigger annoyances.

I'm confident it's on the list of feature updates!

This needs adding.It almosts defeats the point of having templates.

a button "add ship type" instead of the current list of ship types:

so you can add "escort" design and set 5 ships for it with close escort tactics.
than add "heavy escort" design and set 4 ships for that with picket tactics.
add "destroyer" design and set 4 with attack tactics...

than "attach" two "fuel tankers" with "support attached fleet tactics": so they hopefully keep the fighting ships topped up and automatically go get new fuel once they run out without disturbing the combat ships or getting move orders when the fleet moves elsewhere.

I have already raised this issue before the release and I think that we need to be able to create multiple type of any hull and each active ship we should be able to set which other hull they will update to or from when they become obsolete or you create a new design.

Having only one ship type per hull type is really restrictive in my opinion and not able to use templates or automatic refit of the ships. It is really tedious to refit ships and manage fleets all manually.

In my current game, I wanted to create a modified attack fleet template, to include frigates designed for boarding, while keeping also "normal" frigates in the template. Not doable right now.

For me, adding that capacity to DW2 is probably the biggest improvement that could be made to the game right now!

They did not have this DW:U for how many years? I wish they add it, but then it has impact in many places of the game, like ship purchasing in various places (there is more than one place that is affected). I suspect they will not add that for looong time if at all.
