Resource percentages disagree

In my game the Mouseover popup for Rocky asteroid YL358 shows 7% Mebnar and 20% Steel , confirmed in the box at the bottom left of the screen . However in the New Mining Location Screens the percentages shown for YL358 are 31% Mebnar and 20% Steel.

Similarly for Asteroid SH726 the mouseover shows 8% Steel , 31% Mebnar whilst the New Mining Location Screen shows 13% Steel and 9% Mebnar for the same Asteroid,

Which percentage of Resources should be taken as an accurate figure , should both the Mouseover and the New Mining Location screen show the same percentages ? . If yes , does this mean that what I am seeing is a Bug ?

Minings stations ahve a range and thus mine several asteroids at the same time. You can not double-mine an asteroid however.

I was only talking about 1 asteroid , not a mining station whose range could encompass several asteroids

There is never just "one asteroid" in range of the station. Mining stations have considerable range. More then you might expect.

zgrssd,

Ok , thanks , I get it now - the new Mining location figures take into account the total of all resources within the MS radius , not just the single individual rock where the MS is built.

Exactly.

And luckily, given how expensive 1 station for a asteroid with 8% Steel and 9% Mebnar would be.
