Just want to say a big thank you to the devs and all those on the team that made this game happen. I'm having a blast!

It's finally time to launch my first real war, the mortalens have launched a savage campaign to my north against small underdeveloped worlds on my border. From their core world of Volkan they have annexed most of the north under their iron grip.

For the past 4 years I have been amassing a force to bring a swift and decisive victory against the sand lizard oppressors! New fleets and tactics built on from the lessons learned in operations during the great expansion! The might of Terran technological supremacy will be felt through our battle fleets! The strength of all 82 billion freedom loving citizens of the Republic marches alongside the hundreds of thousands of brave Terran troops now on their way to the hostile desert sands of far off distant worlds.

Same, been playing this a bit lately. Enjoying every bit of it. Even took some "sick leave" off work to play it

I cleared two weeks of my schedule for this games release. Nothing but listening to podcasts and music in the background as I oversee my epic space empires. First up are humans to get an overall feel for the new mechanics then straight into the dark hives of the boskara to sweep the galaxy of all sentient life or enslave those unlucky few that are useful. Unluckier than death you say? You wouldn't say that if you had to suffer the fate of being a boskaran hive slave. The last stage after being worked to near death is rumored to be the host for the next generation of boskara which prefer their hosts alive and aware as they are eaten alive much like a wasp larva in a tarantula..

Just throwing in that im also loving this game. Sadly my specs are not the best, so cannot wait until Nvidia pull their fingers out and let me play it on Geforce now!

I also love Distant Worlds 2. It has issues, but overall I think it's great. Lucky for me I have not had any technical issues yet, sorry for those that have technical problems.

In every game I learn important lessons. For example, that vision is important. An enemy faction declared war on me and I did not know where his systems or ships where. Suddenly they warped into on of my colonies and landed a huge invasion and took over. I have a nice fleet, but taking back the colony requires heavy investment in troops/transports.

Nice. How is that game running on your machine? Any performance issue?

I like the rework of the research system and its versatility, though I think it will be a while before I try my hand at random research.

Annd I like how Planetary Facilities work now, just by reading about them.
No more race to have those two early performance monsters to outclass everyone else ( Bakuras&Trade Center)

I hadn't had to many issues up until this point, it is a 700 star galaxy, and unfortunately during the war I encountered a lot of crashing to desktop as I was zooming in and out rather quickly to manage all of my fleets and keep them on mission. After winning the war the slow down and crashes on my system made me think I might have a smoother late game experience in a 500 star galaxy. So started up a fresh run with the Zenox, that went well until I found 3 hive carriers that demolished me in the early game lol

700 star galaxy on my rig seems to run into trouble in the late game, understandable as there is so much going on. Would probably be better with less than 12 empires too.

Thanks, I think this illustrates well the current performance limitations, and also those persisting CTDs. I imagine fixing these issues should remain the priority of priorities before other adjustments are made.

I agree but I found 2 major loop popup that killed my save game and off course I posted the save game in the tech support subforum

Second priority is to add a safety for the loop popup because it's insane lol I restarted 5 new game because of that

But hey I don't complain because I love the game and I'm better at every failure
