Is it just me or do fuel tankers seem to endlessly chase automated ships and civilian freighters?

I've noticed that sometimes the target ship will get a command saying "Waiting on refueling" but after a brief time period will seemingly forget this command and go about delivering freight, meanwhile the fuel tanker is just endlessly chasing that ship around trying to refuel them. Perhaps if we can get a fix to ensure ships wait until they are refueled before continuing on with there business it would make them more usefull.

Anyone having similar issues? I could perhaps be using them incorrectly.
I noticed even with attached to a fleet it's a similar issue.
It would be nice when a fleet decides it needs to refuel, and it has tankers attached it would prioritize just sitting where it's at and waiting on them to refuel.

To add, fuel tankers will not fully refuel a fleet. I have fuel tanks with 8000+ fuel still in it, go to a fleet refuel a few ships and then head off to mine with still 8000+ fuel in it. So, I am left with 2-3 ships in the fleet with no fuel.

Also make it so the fuel ship drones refuel ships within a radius, not one at a time. It kills me to watch it try to go to each ship, then seems to give up per the above. Hell make it a tech advancement for fuel transfer modules, but please make it multiship.

Yea can confirm, one fuel tanker which was in the fleet supplied all but one ship in the fleet with fuel and then jumped away to fuel some thing else. Could need some optimization...

Saw this as well. Also saw tankers leave the fleet to fill up at a remote mining ship.

Perhaps there should be an option to place the tankers in Manual at a strategic place where the fleet can refuel much like the Japanese tankers were placed for the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I have noticed that when I ask a tanker to manually refuel a ship, the ship getting fuel must be stopped. If it is still moving, the tanker won't refuel it.

Can I Order Ships to refuel at the tanker ?
