Fuel Consumption

I have been under the impression that units using "road movement" consume half the amount of fuel. Is this correct?
I looked through the manual, but could not find the section that gave me this impression.
Thanks.

You might have seen it in a forum post.
The fuel consumption per turn is fixed, however the number of hexes traveled during the turn is greater when moving on roads than going cross-country. And the better the road, the more hexes.

Fuel Consumption per turn is fixed? So no matter if a unit moves or not it uses the fuel?

So there is no 1/2 fuel savings for being in "March" mode? A unit moving in combat mode uses the same amount of fuel as one in march mode?

You spend half the fuel per AP since game update. See errata:

Considering that AP cost for moving over road is already halved in march mode.... it means for the same distance travelled (over road) you only pay 25% of fuel you would otherwise pay in combat mode.
