i think the "colony" tab has a sub tab about colonizable locations
for mining its a sub tab in mining...
for science locations its a sub tab under research...
for resort its a sub tab in civillian...
etcetc... just take a look at all the menu tabs top left.. its all stuffed in them now

Does it have the same does it have the same functionality of being able to sort by what my Empire needs versus what galaxy names?

There's seperate planners in the different windows for mining stations, colonies, resort bases, research bases, and monitoring stations (although the monitoring stations one is always blank for me)
You can filter most of them by various things including distance, biome, size, resources, and "priority" - which i assume is some special algorithm for each, but in the mining one it will highlight resources where you have a shortage and put them at the top of the list. And you can hover over the resource to see the shortage stats (but it's "per second" which seems meaningless in a game with this timescale?)

No, seconds is allright as a timescale,
it's the difference between ingame time and real time.
FTL Jump Initiation and Cooldown are also in Seconds,
As is Weapons and Shield Recharge ( also DPS .. that stupid value that makes me still mad at Diablo2 )
---
As far as I noticed I still can't sort by Star System ?

But the game has 5 different speeds and runs faster or slower depending on performance & available processing power & etc. So "seconds" is meaningless as well as inconsistent. If it just told you the rate in days it would be consistent across speeds as well as letting you compare it directly with other data in-game.

Good Point,
i am experiencing the "different" speeds right now in my game

And Internal consistency is always a good thing, so I concede my point.
My guess why component systems are messured in seconds is that seconds are more fine grained than one ingame day,
The middleway would be to cut the ingame day into game-tick hours.
