Plan Martin added to the open beta!

Plan Martin, the Rundstedt alternative to Wacht am Rhein, is now available for testing on the Matrix DC: Ardennes open beta branch:

Was my TOAW scenario "Rundstedt's Plan Martin" used at all for this? That looks like my map. Just curious.

I have played couple of turns as the Germans the Plan Martin scenario and I can say that the Rundstedt's plan is pretty much dead at the start. Allies are very strong in the north and I found myself in a desperate defense there.
The attack through the Ardennes felt similar to the normal Wacht am Rhein scenario, it was possible to make good progress there. It will take quite a while before I can even imagine being able to get even close to Aachen. Maybe if I assign all reinforcement divisions to the north, I could try to create an encirclement around Aachen eventually, but that seems still pretty unlikely, unless the AI is programmed to move its units from the north to the Ardennes to stop the German breakthrough there (which I assume is the historical situation).
In terms of turn resolution speed, I did set the AI speed slow, and it took like 15-20 minutes to resolve the AI moves. The AI performed about 1400 moves! Maybe next time I set the AI speed to normal, or I just leave the game to run in the background.

Thanks for posting this information! A couple of people have said the vanilla Wacht am Rhein scenario is pretty easy as the Germans, so this could be another option. Of course, easy to them is not easy to me.
I had tested the WaR scenario a while back and the AI turn moved along pretty briskly on a weak i7 3.6 gig system. So maybe it's the "slow" speed setting holding you up. OTOH, 1400 moves is a lot to process...

Hi Daniel,
I know your great TOAW scenario, but my "Plan Martin" is simply the Wacht am Rhein scenario with frontline expanded till Sittard with all the available units in the known position on 16 dec.44 !
Could be interesting in the future adding some of your variants.

Also played a couple of turns in the Plan Martin beta.
I like the idea in general and I'd be interested in playing a second campaign, but right now this is just Wacht am Rhein on a larger Map.
The main units are still all set up in a way to go through the Ardennes and the encirclement of Aachen is close to impossible with the initial troupes in the north. If this scenario is supposed to give a different playing experience than the deployment of the initial units (especially the strong panzer- and Waffen SS units) needs to be different from from the Wacht am Rhein campaign and lean much more towards the north and Aachen.

Alternatively, asking Daniel McBride if Davide can use his TOAW scenario to transfer it into DC4. That would be very interesting.

Actually we have the historical disposition of units on 16 dec. 44, but Plan Martin map have great potential, i am working for a 128 turns variant 16-dec 44/16-Jan 45.
Could be interesting 18 dec. 44 as starting date with US division 1st, 9th, 30th and 7th armored already redeploying south and the II.SS Pz.Korps assigned to 15.Armee !
