Greetings
I noticed that there was a Space Creature at this star. Decided to send a fleet in to take care of it.
Wow! A gathering of Graillex. Or is it a Gaggle?!
I count at least 40.
Game settings is for Few Space Creatures.

quick build a fence around it and resort bases... its a SPACE ZOO

I'm not sure the pirate or creature quantity settings work.
I have pirates in my no pirates save and I think you will get creatures in a no creature game too (Since ruins spawn pirates and creatures).
Maybe it's just that the RNG range is so great you can get a game of very few from very many and the other way around?

It might be related to in-game event. For me similar happened with star system related to race story (no spoilers)

It could also be that they reproduced, I've noticed the amount of threat increasing in certain systems over time.
