This game is about base, placement, reconnaissance level and naval interception. As such, it is critical to help the player to easily place a given fleet.

This rule in particular is key:
Enemy fleets need to be within a 5 hex range of the destination.

But, today, when moving a fleet, you need to count manually the hexes to be sure of your fleet's placement.

The existing naval cursor is below:

What I think would be a great addition is to add an overlay to the existing naval cursor when moving a fleet.

Since it is mainly useful for the Fleet mode and not the Raider mode, we can imagine that this overlay is only active when the stack to move is in Fleet mode.

As an example, it could be like the following. If the naval stack contains CV, we can also display the range of carrier based planes depending on the range available in the advancement level.

If the CV stack contains several CV with several tech level, only the lowest range is displayed, of course.

Thanks for your consideration.

Or maybe a better idea, something that will perhaps required less development, use hexsides to highlight few of them.

In the below example, the white color is the naval interception range and the grey color is the carrier based plane range.

Perhaps a little too much of hexsides highlighted but you got the idea.

Thanks a lot, I am sure you will find something much more pretty that the above examples.

I was thinking of dots instead of lines. Or, something vaguely reminding a compass but without overwhelming the map that must be still clearly visible.

Maybe we should launch the contest for the best cursor? Open to all readers.

Alvaro, perhaps add this as an option if people would still like the old way of working.
