I think current versions of plagues are pretty weak. No debuffs, not even massive amounts of deaths. Even Shakturi Psionic Virus is a joke.

Please, 'buff' plagues!

Seems like they are placeholders especially the shakturi virus. I'm going to assume that fleshing out the various racial story events will be an ongoing process until they get enough built up for an expansion or dlc. To me most of the story stuff so far is much the same as in DWU to foreshadow future events much like when they added in the shakturi invasion expansion.

I thought other plagues are similar disasters like tsunami on some worlds.

No! Fix the option to disable colony events first. It is not working at all. For people who don't like disasters.

If it's psionic it would require a tinfoil hat mandate

The plague was trying to kill me with an endless number of messages telling me things I did not read.
