I just fired up a fresh game against old opponent. We are playing 002. I am Allied this time. I use the Seabee utility. On first turn I saw a hex incompatibility message. Now on 2nd turn I see that I'm unable to open Abadan base. My other game is a DBB and no apparent issues there. Any ideas?....I see comparing the problem map to that being used in DBB game that the base isn't sitting in the same place. It seems to be floating several hexes SW of where it belongs.

Scenario 2 uses the standard map and DBB uses the extended map. You can not mix them, you will need to make a separate installation for each one.

I figured as much...evidently it plagued opponent last game and he never complained. Now, what is the best way to perform a separate installation with old style map without ruining what I have? If I succeed will we have to restart this new game?

If you haven't guessed I'm no computer genius!

Just do a second install to a different location and set each one up for the game you want.

Since you are playing a DBB game, you should be able to install the extended map (from the last page on the DBB site) in your new game install, then copy in your save game files and load up the last one. I am not sure at what point you got involved with Scenario 2, but that may have messed up your DBB install so don't try and use your current install of the game.

And if it is really scenario 2 you want to play, then forget DBB completely and just install the game and patch, and start scenario 2. No map monkeying required!
