Besides the setting, how is this different than Campaign Series: Middle East 1948-1985.
Is it updated with newer features, better graphics, etc.
The reason I asked is because from the videos I watched I really like the gameplay, and the features, but right now I am thinking of putting Vietnam on the back burner until it goes on sale and picking up Campaign Series: Middle East 1948-1985 which is on sale now.

The primary difference is that Vietnam introduces a far better experience against the AI as the AI has been scripted with Lua for each scenario. Of course, there are also UI improvements and features that are not currently found in the CSME 2.01 version of the game.

The above will be worked on for the CSME 3.00 UPDATE that will be due near the end of the year.

I like using the 3D Alternate Bases, for the mods, as well as Hoplite CSME Unit Picture Mod, which continues to be updated in the CSME forum. It is located here:

Its worth noting that the 3D Alternate Bases Mod includes dedicated icons and flags for the 1948 war were many of the Arab armies used very different rondels and motifs from those employed in later wars. The Syrian and Egyptian ones are particularly good.

I noticed that many 3D alternate Bases mods are already included with the game and that you only have to enable them with the also included JSGME app.
