D Day

It's odd that, if one attempted to walk in the footsteps of the Allies, all your troops would be out of supply and dead in 3-4 turns.

I'm not saying it is wrong. I was just looking at D Day maps, and i've played so much WP over the last 2 months that I was looking at the maps through a QP logistical filter...

I did not know that!! That's great!

Any info on your new project? Any plans on making an announcement?

Hmm. That’s less awesome.

I volunteer to beta tho.

It takes an immense amount of time to make a game. About 4000 hours = 2 years full time work.

This is assuming a simpler game.

The mechanics of WarPlan are very complex in the code. How many games allow you to rotate through stacks or have a hex based naval system? It isn't done because it is that hard.

If you want to know.
Builds, diplomacy, combat, map, map editor, and UI are all done.... As well as they can be.
The Multiplayer system is complete.
Also the save game function is better with a smaller file allowing me to make huge maps.

I am working on the next section of the game which is the secret sauce, then the A.I.

But the coding is just part of it. A.I. testing and beta testing take a long time.

What I do when something is in beta test is that I work on the next game. So when this game is in beta testing WP2 will be created. That should take shorter since the new engine will be done. It will require a lot of data input though.

Could you please confirm if the Romulans will have access to the cloaking device on turn one?

It honestly sounds like a lot of fun, compared to making software for business needs.

I disagree, it should be researched like any other tech path. :P

No cloaking devices in this game.

Reminds me of Command and Conquer. There was a cloaked tank in the game. 8-)
