CLARIFIED - 1.06.2 - Question on air superiority support

Here is the situation. I have an air superiority unit ready and operational in Lae. The US player has a Tactical Bomber unit in Milne Bay.

I have just moved a division in Manus by sea transportation. I have seen the message that the Tactical Bomber has failed to intercept the enemy or something like that.

I just have a question. Why the US Tactical Bomber, that was in range of my Air Superiority unit, was not intercepted at all?
I did not see an attempt to do so even if it fails. I can perfectly understand that the air interception may fail. I am just surprised they did not move at all.

On the contrary, when this is your turn and when you are performing a Naval Air Strike. Even if you fail to locate the enemy, your bomber can be intercepted by air superiority unit.

As such, why naval interception can't be coded the same way? And, also, why a failed naval interception, not finding anything, is not logged in the Combat Logs window?

Thanks

There is a difference between actively sending a bomber force to attack a target that you see

AND

your search planes NOT seeing the target at all.

Missed interceptions means the target wasn't even spotted.

Ah ok so the search planes did not bring lot of planes in the air. And no CAP was then triggered.

Or they flew at the wrong time or the wrong day. These are 14 days turns.
