Deport colonists?

Having to fork lots of lovely credits to support colonists in poor environments is a thing. There's been an issue raised that migration may be borked and allow aliens flood your colonies destroying the economy but that's not what I'm asking.

So, simply, I send 30 million blue-blooded humans to colonize some frogman water planet, which is not going to be a great fit. Would the smart move be to change the immigration policy right away to actively deport them away? "OK guys, great job integrating them into our empire, now go home."

Yup. I've done this many times, just make sure your passenger ships have the range to get there.

You can also send a reduced number of colonists if you know you're just going to remove them right away. I'm not sure if you can send an empty colonizer though.

You can use the resettle policy. Just be aware, you need a place to send the people too as well.

Yes, deporting the guys afterwards works but somehow that's just really wrong. Perhaps there should be some other way to handle these independent colonies, whatever it might be. Some kind of project to integrate them with enough resources & money spent?
